If you’ve spent any time researching or flipping through social media, you’ve seen the beautiful villages, lovely sea, and easy mornings with espresso in a sun-drenched piazza. The dream life is for sale, but so is the opposite. You might have seen creators saying that Europe or Italy are full of fat, smelly, rude people who only eat carbs and hate everybody.
This is where working with a coach can help. We move past the voices outside of your head and family to look at what’s important to you. Why leave? Where’s home? Why move away? What are you running from and what are you running towards, and where is the right country to live that goal life?
My goal is not to convince you to move to Italy.
As an ICF-accredited coach, my goal is to help you find clarity, focus on what’s important to you, and make better-informed decisions from those aha moments. When someone comes to me considering a move to Italy (or abroad anywhere), my job is to ask questions. We’ll look honestly at what you’d be leaving behind, what you’re hoping to find, and whether those two things actually line up. Sometimes the answer at the end of that process is:- Yes, Italy is right for you, and here’s how to do it well.
- Maybe not full-time, but what about six months a year? Three months?
- Actually, this doesn’t seem like the right move for you, now or at all.
Some coaches and creators have financial interests in convincing you to move.
Their business model depends on you believing the dream, booking the trip, signing up for their program, or buying their course. The more people they can convince that Italy is paradise, the more revenue they generate. My business model is different. I make money when I help people make good decisions, whether that decision is to move, to try it part-time, or to stay where they are. My other services are for people who have already moved, and need help navigating daily life, culture, bureaucracy, etc. A client who decides not to move after working with me is someone who got clarity, avoided a potentially expensive mistake, and can make choices with confidence. A client who decides to move will also have done so with clarity and confidence. The people who thrive here are the ones who went in with open eyes, realistic expectations, and genuine preparation. The people who struggle are often the ones who fell in love with the vacation version of Italy and didn’t do the work to understand what daily life actually looks like. What I can help you figure out.
- Is moving to Italy (or abroad generally) actually right for you and your family?
- What would you be giving up, and what would you gain?
- Is a full move the right answer, or would part-time living abroad serve you better?
- If you do move, where in Italy makes sense for your lifestyle, budget, and personality?
- What do you need to know, do, and prepare before you go?
- Once you’re here, how do you navigate the practical and emotional realities?
- What are your priorities and needs? What’s nice to have, and what’s a deal breaker?
